Our History

Mattapan Community Development Corporation was incorporated in 1996 with a mission of improving the social and economic conditions of all people who live or work in Mattapan.

Since 1998, Mattapan CDC has rehabilitated 23,688 square feet of multi-family buildings and purchased 6,749 square feet of vacant land to create a number of homeownership opportunities for 1st time home-buyers. As well, Mattapan CDC has initiated several community development coalitions of community stakeholders.

Mattapan CDC is poised to accomplish the greatest aspirations of the chartering officers. We are committed to continuing to build our infrastructure and capacity to accomplish our goals. We attribute our success since our incorporation to three factors:

our ability to assemble a team of staff, board members, consultants and community residents who are dedicated to the mission of the Mattapan CDC

our ability to select a set of core programs that promote positive change in the Mattapan community

our ability to build partnerships and coalitions that promote civic culture and drive neighborhood revitalization
